A boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Chatham this afternoon.

Police were called at 1.08pm following reports of a collision between a car and a boy in Robin Hood Lane.

Ambulance crews also attended and the boy was taken to Medway Maritime hospital for treatment to injuries that have not been described as serious.

The road was closed to ensure public safety and this was lifted at around 1.55pm.
