An 11-year-old boy is recovering at home after he was hit by a car on his way to school.
Trevor Lewing had just left his home in Rochester Avenue, when he was hit in the face by a car wing mirror in Delce Road, Rochester.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene shortly after 7.30am on today (Tuesday, September 22).
The Thomas Aveling pupil recieved a half-inch gash on his right cheek and bruising and swelling. He also has a possible fracture to the left side of his face near his ear.
Mum Heather, 37, said: "A passerby checked his planner and phoned me and I ran out the house in my pyjamas.
"He was taken to East Grinstead Hospital where they did an operation to re-stitch his chin and there’s a good chance he might need another operation.
"He still doesn’t know exactly what happened just that he was crossing at the top of Rochester Avenue when he was hit by a car. He doesn’t remember much else.
"He was on his way to meet his friend but he never got that far."
