A spirited bride has marked her wedding day by travelling more than 40 miles via the Dartford Tunnel in a JCB 3CX digger.
Jessica Clair Bull drove herself to the special occasion in the famous plant machinery thanks to help from the Diggerland amusement park in Strood.
The 33-year-old public relations worker made the unconventional journey on Sunday to mark her marriage to 36-year-old carpenter, Christopher Elkins.
Setting out from Diggerland’s base at Medway Valley Leisure Park, the JCB travelled through the Dartford Tunnel before arriving at the venue, Jessica’s parents’ home in the seaside town of Southend, Essex.
Inspiration for the journey came from the couple's shared passion for the construction world – having originally met on a building site when Jessica, fresh out of university, was working for her father's construction business.
In a surprising twist of fate, Jessica's initials also aligned with the classic machinery brand, JCB, making the wedding even closer to her heart.
Yet the duo's own journey hasn't been without its twists and turns.
Originally planning to tie the knot in 2020, their wedding plans were set back by the pandemic.
However they were soon joined by the arrival of their daughter and another JCB enthusiast.
The couple's big day finally arrived on Sunday.
Jessica had contacted JCB never imagining a response but to her delight destiny intervened, and JCB extended a call for assistance to one of their largest customers, Diggerland.
Together they arranged an entirely new JCB 3CX for the momentous occasion.
As a result, Jessica found herself not only with the icon of British machinery for her wedding day but also with the opportunity to make a lasting memory.
Diggerland's UK marketing and guest relations manager, Sherene Garvin-Mack, said: "We were thrilled to learn about Jessica's plan to arrive at her wedding ceremony in a JCB 3CX.
"At Diggerland, we celebrate creativity and uniqueness, and we're honoured to be a part of Jessica and Christopher's special day."
