Rochester Bridge repairs taking place

Essential road repairs will mean two overnight lane closures on and near Rochester Bridge this week.

Tonight (Tuesday) part of The Esplanade adjacent to Castle Hill corner will be closed. Tomorrow, one lane of Rochester New Bridge will be closed.

A spokesman for the Rochester Bridge Trust said: "In order to minimise disruption to traffic, each lane closure will run from 8pm until 6am."

The crossing is maintained by the Rochester Bridge Trust which was founded in 1399 and is the only surviving independent bridge trust that still serves its original purpose.
