A broken-down BMW has been torched by arsonists as it sat on the back of a recovery truck in Strood.

Firefighters were called to the burning convertible 3 Series car in Higham Road, Wainscott, at about 12.30am today.

They managed to save the recovery vehicle from going up in flames too.

Firefighters were at the scene for about 40 minutes and believe the fire was started deliberately.
