Detectives investigating an aggravated burglary, where a woman was held against a wall as she tried to dial 999, have e-fit images of three men they would like to speak to.
The incident happened at a home in Birch Grove, Hempstead on Monday, September 30, but details have only just been released by police.
Officers say between 1.10pm and 1.25pm, three men wearing high visibility tops knocked at the door of the home.
When the woman who lived there went to the door, they called out to say they were from a delivery company.
When she opened the front door one of the men barged into the home, knocking her out of the way in the process.
The man walked into the front room and the other two then entered the house, all three were carrying metal poles.
The woman, who had two children in the house at the time, tried to call police from her mobile but one of the trio grabbed the phone off her and held her against the wall.
Meanwhile, one of the three went upstairs and returned moments later and all three ran out of the house.
It was then discovered a mobile phone has been stolen from upstairs.
PC Kelly Hui, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was a particularly disturbing incident in which a family were threatened by three men in their own home.
“If anyone recognises these men from the images generated, or has any information that might prove helpful, I’d urge you to get in contact.”
