Today is the day when most of our post for the festive season will be processed.
Postal workers across the county have been making sure all of our letters and cards will be where they need to be by Christmas.
By the end of today, staff at Medway's mailing centre will have handled more than double the parcels they do on an average day.
WATCH: Busiest day for postal workers
The Rochester-based Mail Centre will deliver between six and seven times more letters over the festive period than usual, processing millions of Christmas cards and spreading festive greetings around the country.
Over a thousand employees man the centre to make sure cards and parcels are received in time for the big day.
Medway Mail duo Dave Gardener, 52, and Bob French, 56 have working with Royal Mail for a combined 66 years.
Dave, who lives in Strood, said:
“Over Christmas it does get a lot busier, but we enjoy it all year round. The people here make the job.”
Bob, from Tonbridge, said:
“I love the comradery here, everyone is a different character. It’s not as stressful as it used to be here over the Christmas time, due to all the automation.”
Despite the impressive man power, the centre has a staggering level of automation. Five letter sorting machines all have the capacity to sort 40,000 letters per hour, ordering them by houses, roads and postcodes to make it that much easier for delivery men (or Santa’s little helpers) to bring them to your door.
