A man was airlifted to hospital after a crash on a busy dual carriageway.

The A278 Hoath Way in Gillingham was shut from around 5.40pm yesterday due to accident from the Gillingham Business Park Roundabout to Sharsted Way (the Hempstead Valley Roundabout).

A police spokesperson has confirmed officers were called to a report that a motorcyclist had come off his bike in Hoath Way.

Paramedics attended the scene where the casualty was treated for injuries. He was airlifted to a London hospital for further medical attention.

The injuries are not described as life-threatening.
