A busy tunnel is set to shut overnight this week for maintenance works to take place.

The Medway Tunnel will be closed from 8pm to 5.45am from today (September 4) until Friday, September 7.

This means there will be travel restrictions in Pier Road, Gillingham, and Vanguard Way, Rochester.

There will also be several road closures in place on and around Rochester High Street on Sunday, September 17.

This will be between 8am and 4pm in order for a Corps Memorial Event to take place.
