Detectives are investigating after a cannabis grow was uncovered following a raid on a terraced home.

Police attended Bryant Road, Strood in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The property was raided and saw officers, who didn’t leave the home until about 10.30pm the same day, discover an amount of drugs inside.

A spokesman for the force said: "Kent Police was called at 1.04am on Monday (February 12) to a report of a disturbance at a property in Bryant Road.

"Officers attended, however nobody was inside the property.

"A cannabis cultivation was found inside and inquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible."

One resident said there was a “heavy police presence” including two cars and a forensic vehicle, with the door of the home also being broken down.

It is not known how many plants were unearthed following the raid.

The incident comes after footage of burglars raiding a town centre cannabis factory in Folkestone emerged last Thursday (February 8).

Meanwhile, a separate cannabis cultivation of more than 100 plants was uncovered at a different address last week.

Officers were called to Hastings Road in Rolvenden, near Tenterden, on Tuesday (February 6) and found 180 plants at the site.

It led to two men, aged 49 and 50, being arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and handling stolen goods. Both were bailed pending further inquiries.
