Emergency services were called when a car burst into flames on a main road in Chatham.

Firefighters confirmed the vehicle caught alight in North Dane Way just after 9pm.

It is not known how many people were in the car, but it is understood no one was injured.

One fire engine attended and has since left the scene.

The car was said to have avoided major damage.
