A car has overturned and has ended up on its side in a ditch at the Four Elms roundabout.
Firefighters and police were called to the scene just after 10:30am after the car left the main carriageway and overturned in the ditch at the side of the Rochester-bound carriageway of the Wainscott bypass.
It is understood no-one suffered any serious injuries during the incident and it may be that the wet weather conditions may have led the car to leave the road.
The incident has caused delays for other motorists travelling towards Rochester and tailbacks also built up on Four Elms Hill itself.
A spokesman from Kent Police said:“Kent Police was called at 10.32am after a car overturned into a ditch off Four Elms Hill, Chattenden.
Firefighters helped to release a woman who was trapped in a vehicle by stabilising it and the woman was led to safety and into the care of SECAmb.
“Officers are currently in attendance along with fire and ambulance crews, and a road closure is in place.
“No serious injuries have been reported.”
