Traffic is queuing after a vehicle caught fire on a busy stretch of road.

All lanes have now re-opened following the incident in Blue Bell Hill between Rochester Road and Common Road coast-bound.

Firefighters tackled the blaze and have since recovered the car.

Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used compressed air foam and hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.

No casualties were reported and the cause is believed to be accidental.
