Car flips onto its roof near McDonald's on Medway City Estate, Strood

A stolen vehicle which flipped onto its roof near a popular McDonald's has been seized by police.

Officers were called to a collision on Medway City Estate, Strood, at around 1am.

Kent Police's Medway team say the driver made off from the scene.

An officer said: "Driver decided they didn’t want to hang around and speak with us.

"Checks conducted show the vehicle was on false plates and recently stolen.

"Vehicle seized and now over to our CSI colleges to work their magic."

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 12.55am to a report a car had overturned in Anthonys Way.

"Officers attended the scene where the driver had left prior to their arrival.

"Arrangements were made to recover the vehicle which is suspected to be stolen and inquiries are under way to locate the driver."
