Residents in Rochester awoke to a loud bang during the early hours of the morning after a car ended up on its roof outside their homes.
The white vehicle crashed at about 2.40am in Maidstone Road, Rochester, close to the Watts Almshouses.
Lee Thompson, who lives nearby was woken by the smash and managed to get these photographs of the car on its roof.
He posted them on the Rochester Community Friends group on Facebook.
It is understood the driver of the vehicle may have made off from the scene of the smash as the car was empty and with its keys still in the ignition.
The car suffered substantial damage during the crash and its roof was squashed and dented.
Papers and other items were also thrown out of the car during the impact.
It is thought the vehicle may have struck a sign post at the side of the road too, but it is not known at this stage how the accident happened.
Police were called to deal with the incident and arranged for the vehicle to be removed by a recovery truck.
Mr Thompson, said: "Well that wasn't how I wanted to be woken up at 2.40am."
A police spokesman added: "Officers attended but the driver was not located at the scene. Officers arranged for the vehicle to be recovered and enquiries are on-going.
"No injuries have been reported."
