Police have closed a slip road after a car ended up in a hedge.

The accident happened on Maritime Way, just before the junction with Pier Road, leading to the Medway Tunnel.

Police were on the scene just before 1pm.

The crumpled car could be seen with its front end in the hedge at the side of the road.

Police closed the slip road leading on to Maritime Way from Western Avenue but the rest of the road remained opened as normal.
