A group of travellers have set up home on a green in the middle of a residential street in the Towns.
Several caravans and their vehicles set up home on a green on City Way, Rochester, at abut 6pm last night.
Medway Council say they are aware the group are on the site and are working on getting them moved on.
It's not the first time travellers have set up in the area.
In May a group and their horses moved on to a field behind a care home and near to Warren Wood Primary School.
Ten caravans turned up at the council-owned children's park in Friston Way. It is understood they had moved there from the now empty Toys R Us at Horsted Retail Park, Chatham.
Police were called out to the green City Way last night as the group moved onto the field, it is just yards away from the children's park in Friston Way.
Lucy Hurdle, spokesman for police said: "Kent Police was called to a reported unauthorised encampment in City Way, Rochester, at 5.48pm.
"No offences have been reported and the matter will be dealt with by the landowner, which is the standard procedure in terms of any eviction process."
