Wow, Rochester Castle rocked on Friday night as around 4,000 music fans had a huge amount of fun at the massive soul party.
The gardens were alive with thousands of people dancing around the place to top classic soul tracks performed by a variety of legends.
The line up included Angelo Starr and The Team, Gwen Dickey, the Soul Legends touring show, Jimmy James, Clem Curtis, George McRae and more.
It was a non-stop dancing show with both men and women bobbing around the castle singing at the top of their voices to classic covers including hits of Aretha Franklin, James Brown and more.
The voice of Rose Royce, Gwen Dickey, who was wheeled on in her wheelchair, delighted fans with her set which included the smash number 1 hit, Car Wash and Wishing On A Star.
The singer was given a huge round of applause by happy smiling fans as she left the stage to a sea of affectionate goodbye waves.
The soul groove started early in the evening and was virtually non-stop all night and even the Michael Jackson lookalike delighted fans with several tracks and moonwalks.
And the girl’s in the white dresses, Proud Mary, wooed fans until the end of the night with a combination of smash soul tracks and dance moves.
No wonder the concert was a sell out, Medway Council’s soul nights are fun, entertaining and lively and let hope there is another on next year.
The final concert will be the Castle Proms this evening which this year has a special theme.
It will celebrate 300 years of the Royal Engineers and feature musicians from the Royal Engineers Band and the Countess of Wessex Strings playing orchestral favourites. There will be dancing fountains and a firework finale.
Tickets are £32.50. Visit tickets.medway.gov.uk.
