An alleged stranger sex attack on a woman was filmed on CCTV cameras, a court heard.

Edmas Milto from Gillingham denies attempted rape and assault by penetration and is due to stand trial on June 17. He has admitted assault causing actual bodily harm.

He is alleged to have committed the offences in Haig Avenue, Chatham, on July 24 last year.

Assisted by an interpreter, the 23-year-old Lithuanian, of Canterbury Street, Gillingham, made a brief appearance at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday.

Judge Adele Williams adjourned the case for a further hearing on March 7. Milto was remanded in custody.
