A charity night is being held on Friday in memory of popular young basketball coach Danny Stevenson.
The 21-year-old, from Gillingham, died in 2009 after a two-year-battle with cancer.
The Featherby Junior School coach was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2007. After treatment, he was given the all-clear in 2008, but months later the cancer returned.
When he was told by doctors there was nothing more they could do except prolong his life, Danny thought he had months rather than weeks to live so he booked a party and aptly named it Party On.
But just two weeks later Danny died at his parents' home in Allington Road, Gillingham.
Now Danny's family and friends are holding the party he never got to have.
The event, at the Blues Rock Cafe in Gillingham, this Friday, will raise money for CLIC Sargent, the charity which helped Danny through his illness.
Since his death, Danny's family and friends have collected more than £7,000 for the charity, which supports young people with cancer.
They have recorded a CD, which will be on sale at Friday's event, and last Saturday they held a fun day at Woodlands Primary School in Gillingham. Last year, they held a sponsored walk and bikini car wash.
Danny's mum Bernadette said: "CLIC was Danny's favourite charity. The staff were a great help during his illness. We want to give back everything we can."
The party in memory of Danny Stevenson will be held at the Blues Rock Cafe, Redfern Avenue, Gillingham, in Friday, from 7.30pm until midnight. It will include live music and a DJ. Tickets £1.50 on the door.
