Chatham Dockside PR bosses, who booked EastEnders star Charlie Brooks to switch on the Christmas lights, were this afternoon “angry” after reports that she has been named in the I’m A Celebrity line-up.

Charlie will be heading for the jungle in less than a week’s time - five days before she was signed up to perform the honours at the shopping centre.

Charlie, 31, who plays the scheming Janine in the BBC1 soap, was due to flick the button at 4pm on Saturday November 17.

She is currently on a six-month break from EastEnders.

Charlie will go head to head with former Corrie babe Helen Flanagan who has quit as Rosie Webster.
