Tom Dallas' stock has risen despite his semi-final Prizefighter defeat - according to his manager Mark Roe.

Chatham’s Dallas, pictured, suffered a 29-second knockout against eventual winner, New York's Tor Hamer, at York Hall, Bethnal Green.

And it was Hamer who walked away with the £32,000 up for grabs after beating fellow American Kevin Johnson in the final.

Roe, however, felt his man made a good impression, particularly during his quarter-final win over Tom Little.

He said: "Tom showed a lot of courage and that’s most definitely moved him up a notch on the British scene.

"The kid he fought had a lot of experience and, knowing Tom was tired, he just overwhelmed him. I am proud of Tom, though, and he has shown he is a warrior."

Roe felt that the bout against Little had taken too much out of the St Mary’s fighter.

He said: "The first fight was hammer and tong – it was like a welterweight contest. Tom started to come through in the last round.

"Unfortunately, that took a lot out of him. He had packed about eight rounds into three during the previous fight and for a heavyweight that is some punishment."
