A man has been jailed for breaching an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) for the second time in 10 days.

Steven Michael Brierley, 36, of no fixed abode, was given the ASBO at Medway Magistrates Court with conditions not to be in a drunken state, not to consume alcohol in public and not to enter certain parts of Chatham.

It followed a number of complaints about Brierley's drunken behaviour including begging, urinating and defecating in the town centre.

He was jailed for two weeks after breaking the terms of the order just 24 hours after it was issued by the court.

Shortly after being released, he was arrested once again for drinking outside Gillingham railway station.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court today where he was sentenced to a further 56 days behind bars.
