Michelle Grant, of King George Road, Walderslade, has made it to the finals of the Miss Flavour 2009 modelling competition.

The 26-year-old, who is studying health and social care at the Medway campus of Canterbury Christ Church University, is travelling to London for the live final today, Wednesday, despite breaking her toe.

She said: “I stubbed my toe and then later found out it was broken. I was told it would take two or three weeks to heal but I still wanted to go ahead with the competition. It is the chance for me to realise my dream of being a model.”

“I’ve got to walk down a catwalk as part of the final and I’ve got to wear heels - I’ll just have to grin and bear the pain.”

Michelle, is one of 21 finalists in the competition, organised by Flavour magazine. She was picked from hundreds of entries across the UK and is the only finalist from Kent.
