Chatham left it late to overcome Leatherhead by the odd goal in seven and keep in touch with the leaders in Ryman League Division 1 South.

Lee Barnett put the Chats infront after six minutes at Maidstone Road and Ray Powell doubled the advantage three minutes after the break.

The visitors pulled one back before Barnett restored the two-goal lead 14 minutes from time, though he missed the chance to seal his hat-trick when he saw a penalty saved soon after.

The Surrey side bounced back in the closing stages with two goals in two minutes but Ben Payne powered in a last-gasp header to seal a dramatic win for the home side in front of a crowd of 171.
