Chatham Town manager Kevin Watson has called on his squad to follow the shock win at leaders Needham Market with the same level of performance against Soham Town Rangers in Ryman League Division 1 North at Maidstone Road on Saturday.
Watson felt the 1-0 win at leaders Needham Market last week was Chatham’s most complete performance of the season and is now hoping the display leads to a consistent haul of points over the Christmas period so the club reach their target at the halfway stage of the campaign.
He said: "It is difficult with the amount of games we play over the course of a season, which makes it hard to put in performances like that week in, week out.
"It is going to be a tough period against sides near the top but it is important to reach the targets we have set and that is still attainable.
"I don’t think we’ve reached our potential so far but we are too far off where we want to be.
"Having started off so well, we plateaued a bit and, while every side has their ups and downs, I’m hoping we’ve got our down out of the way."
Chatham welcome back defender Kes Metitri after suspension and Watson is expecting a difficult game after losing against the Cambridgeshire side 1-0 earlier in the season.
