After finally removing their "home monkey" from their backs, Chatham now face a test of their away form credentials.
Alex O’Brien’s side recorded their first Ryman League Division 1 South win at Maidstone Road since October 13 with last Saturday’s 3-2 success over Merstham but they now face four consecutive away games, starting with Saturday's trip to Leatherhead.
Then comes a Kent Senior Cup second round tie at Margate on Tuesday followed by league visits to Whitstable (January 30) and Burgess Hill (February 2).
That run of games will make it difficult for Chatham to cling on to their seventh place in the table – especially as they have played more matches than all the other clubs around them.
But manager O’Brien insisted: "We are doing okay and it’s great to have finally won at home so that people will stop talking about that.
"I thought the boys did well last week, even though we conceded two sloppy goals and now we’ve got to keep it going away from home."
O’Brien will have John Wilfort and Ben Payne available after suspension. However, Ray Powell starts a two-match ban and midfielder Matt Rowe is rated only 50/50 by O’Brien due to a pulled muscle in his back.
