Chatham Town manager Paul Foley says he wants to match the club's ambitious ground improvement plans by bringing success on the pitch at Maidstone Road this season.

Chats open the Ryman League, Division 1 South season at home to Corinthian Casuals on Saturday with a new-look squad built around several signings from Foley’s former club VCD.

Foley, pictured, said: "The club are looking to invest in the ground and improve the potential of the club, which is encouraging for a manager.

"As someone whose day job is working on developments, I understand the infrastructure has to be in place to allow growth to occur and this was all made clear when I met the chairman (Jeff Talbot) and committee.

"There are exciting times ahead for Chatham, with the plans that are being progressed and hopefully we can support those on the pitch.

"There is no point having ambition without a plan on how to realise that ambition."

Goalkeeper James Tedder has recovered from an eye injury suffered at Herne Bay last month, while the club have also signed former England under-19 goalkeeper Adam Molloy, who had been training with Sittingbourne following a trial at Gillingham.
