Police were called to a primary school after a boy brought in a knife.

It happened at All Faiths Children's Academy in Strood yesterday.

Police spokesman James Walker said: "Police were called to a report a child had brought a knife into a school in Gun Lane, Strood, on Thursday, December 13.

"At no point were threats were made to other pupils and the incident itself has been handled by the school in line with its disciplinary procedures."

In a statement, the school said: “All Faiths Children’s Academy have taken this incident involving a breach of the school behaviour policy very seriously.

"In line with school policies, Kent Police were informed when this was brought to the attention of a member of staff.

“There were no threats to the safety of the children and staff at the school at any time, and there was no intent to harm.

"Parents were informed and invited to meet with the head teacher if they had further concerns or questions.”
