Armed officers were sent to a residential street after a teenage girl was reportedly seen with a firearm.

The force was called at 11.42am to Star Hill, Rochester, and a search of the area carried out.

A police helicopter was seen above the River Medway

A police helicopter also assisted officers in the hunt and was spotted hovering over the River Medway near Medway City Estate in Strood.

The girl was found but after carrying out inquiries no weapons were discovered.

Police say no offences were found to have been committed.
