Nightflix will be showing family-favourites from Elf to Home Alone, Love Actually and Die Hard – arguably the most debated of whether deserving the title of a Christmas movie.

The Covid-safe environment means people can watch from their own cars snuggled up under a blanket.

Films will be shown at the Rainham Bootfair site in Spade Lane, Hartlip until Christmas Eve with the premiere of Elf at 4pm followed by The Nightmare Before Christmas and How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

Managers revealed to KentOnline they wanted to expand the offers at the site with outdoor cinemas and weddings submitting an application for more permanent plans.

The drive-in cinema this month complies with all government guidelines on social distancing and test and trace, the company said.

The sites will be decorated in festive mood to encourage the Christmas spirit and typical cinema snacks will be available to purchase.

Nightflix owner John Sullivan says: “This year has been a tough one for film fans without access to their local cinemas, and we’re delighted to be able to bring a Christmas schedule packed with something for everyone to enjoy in socially-distanced drive-ins around the country.

"These films are so strongly associated with the festive feeling, and even in areas under strict lockdown the drive-in still lets families enjoy Christmas classics from the comfort and safety of their own vehicles.

"We’re ho-ho-hoping to bring a bit of festive cheer to people with these wonderful films.”

Tickets are priced at £29-34 per car. Film schedules per site are available at www.nightflix.co.uk
