Colin King celebrated a hole-in-one at Rochester & Cobham Golf Club on Good Friday but what made his achievement even more memorable was that his son Jon had "aced" the same hole six weeks earlier.
The father and son were playing together in a club competition when 69-year-old Colin, who lives in Bredhust, holed-in-one using a driver into the wind at the 220-yard par-3 16th.
It was a near-repeat of what had happened on February 19 when Jon also "aced" the 16th using a 5-wood off a different tee from 210 yards.
Jon, 43, who lives at Hempstead, said: "When I got my hole-in-one, dad and I weren’t playing in the same group but we were on Friday so I saw him get his.
"With it being on the 16th, the news had got back to the clubhouse by the time we reached the 18th and some of the lads were hanging out of the windows shouting ‘get ‘em in!’ as we putted out.
"So we told them to put some champagne on ice and then we joined them in the bar for a few drinks before going out for a celebration curry later on. It was the best Good Friday I’ve had for a while!"
