A two-lorry crash is causing rush-hour chaos on the M2.

The east-bound lane of the A289 at Higham is shut and police are turning queuing traffic around after an accident.

It happened just off the slip-road from junction 1 of the M2.

As a result there is congestion along the A2 to the M2 junction and also along the Gravesend Road.

One driver described the roads as "complete gridlock."

Avoid the area if at all possible. There are no details yet of any injuries.
