A police officer who lives in Medway has appeared in court charged with fraud and a driving offence.
PC David Fisher, of New Road, Rochester, was charged yesterday (Thursday) after an investigation by the Surrey Police professional standards department, a spokesman for the force said.
Fisher, 25, appeared before magistrates in Medway this afternoon via virtual technology.
He is accused of fraud by false representation, which relates to him allegedly using a revoked driving licence.
Fisher pleaded not guilty to fraud by false representation and will stand trial over the matter at the same court at a later date.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of driving otherwise in accordance with a licence, and will be sentenced over that offence after his trial.
Magistrates granted him bail and he will next appear at the same court on Monday, August 12 for a case management hearing.
Surrey Police said Fisher was currently suspended from duty.
