Customers can now pay by credit or debit card at any Medway Council site after payment systems were upgraded.

Earlier, Medway Council were not able to accept payments using a chip and pin device or payments over the phone earlier, but the system is now back up and running.

Online payments for council tax and business rates can be paid online at medway.gov.uk.

A Medway Council spokesman said: "This upgrade is a legal requirement and we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
