An elderly woman killed in a car crash in which her husband was seriously injured has been named.
Muriel Godwin, 78, of Birling Avenue, Rainham, was pronounced dead at the scene in Langley, near Maidstone.
Her husband, 77, was driving the car and had to be cut free.
He is understood to now be in a stable condition at Kings College Hospital, London, after the crash on Saturday, September 17.
An inquest into Mrs Godwin's death was opened and adjourned at County Hall on Wednesday. The cause of her death was given as multiple injuries.
The couple's silver Vauxhall Astra was travelling towards Maidstone on the A274 when it hit a brick wall and collided with two vehicles - another silver Vauxhall Astra and a silver Mercedes S500 saloon.
A woman aged 66, who was driving the Mercedes, suffered arm injuries.
The 45-year-old man driving the second Vauxhall Astra escaped unhurt.
