A crash brought traffic to a standstill on the M2.

Police initially closed the motorway London-bound between Junction 3 (Chatham/Rochester/Taddington Roundabout) and J2 (Rochester/Strood) as a result on the smash, near the Medway Bridge.

It left the vehicle involved facing against the flow of traffic and there was said to be debris strewn across the carriageway.

Police say a crash barrier was also damaged.

It happened at around 7.50pm and the motorway was closed for 10 minutes while officers and Highways England officials cleared the debris and removed the vehicle to the hard shoulder.
