Traffic has been building on a motorway due to a car crashing into the central reservation.

Congestion was piling up on the M2 London-bound with traffic being held at junction 2 for the A228 Rochester.

It was reported to police at around 11.30am and highway officers attended.

Emergency services and National Highways were called to the crash at 1.16pm.

All vehicles had been moved to the hard shoulder by 2pm and the lanes re-opened.

There have been no reported injuries.

Police, fire and the South East Coast Ambulance Service have been asked for more details.
