The M2 Medway bridge had to close for a period this afternoon after a two car crash on the London-bound carriageway.

Kent Police were called to the scene and held the traffic for a time just before Junction 2 Sundridge Hill for Strood and Rochester, but the carriageway has since reopened.

No one suffered any serious injuries and the bridge was closed for a period so the damaged cars could be removed.

All lanes are now open.
