A crash prompted traffic towards the Dartford Tunnel to be held as emergency services were scrambled.

All traffic was stopped this evening while police responded to the collision between Junction 1A for the A206, Dartford and Junction 31 for the A1306 for Lakeside.

One lane remains closed past the scene but the exit slip road at Junction 1A is still blocked.

Traffic monitoring website Inrix is reporting delays of up to 30 minutes with congestion backed up to the Darenth Interchange.

Essex Police and the ambulance service have been approached for comment.
