Crews tackle stable fire in Boxley Road, Walderslade, Chatham

Firefighters spent about half an hour tackling a blaze in a stable in Walderslade last night.

The building which was almost destroyed was in Boxley Road, and crews were called out to put out the flames at about 8.30pm.

Firefighters from Rochester and a crew from Maidstone were called out to deal with the fire and the derelict stable suffered about 60% fire damage.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire was not known.
