Cyclist found lying in the road in Wainscott with serious injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was found lying in the road with serious injuries.

The 43-year-old man, thought to be from Gravesend, was found in Woodfield Way, Wainscott, at 5.30pm yesterday.

Officers are trying to establish how he fell off his bike and believe he may have been involved in a collision with a vehicle.

He was riding a silver bike and it is thought he may have been lying on the road for a short while before a passing motorist stopped and called the emergency services.

The injured man was taken to King’s College Hospital in London where he remains in a serious condition.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward who may have seen the incident to help establish what made the man come off his bike.
