A cyclist has been taken to hospital after a collision with a car.

Police were called to the A2 New Road, Rochester, just before 7am after reports of a crash.

Officers and paramedics attended the scene where a cyclist was treated for injuries.

He was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.

The road was shut in both directions, leading to queuing traffic in the area, but it has since reopened.

Buses were being diverted and Arriva asked passengers for Strood to board at the Casino Rooms.
