After a third break-in at a dance studio, a teenager decided to raise some money to help make it more secure.
Alicia Honey has been a student at Buxton Dance and Drama Studios in Gillingham High Street for a number of years.
She was there the day they discovered the latest incident and wanted to do something to help.
She asked her school, Rainham Girls, if she could raise funds there with a cake sale for students and staff.
She collected £145 which will go towards a much-needed burglar alarm, some new front doors and a fire escape.
Paula Buxton, the principal of the dance school said: “My sincere thanks to Alicia and Rainham School for Girls for supporting her. It really was the most lovely surprise and I can’t praise all involved enough.”
