Commuters piling out of a railway station during rush hour stopped in their tracks when they looked to the skies.
Was it a bird, was it a plane or was indeed Superman swooping over Rochester?
No, on a closer look it was a daredevil paraglider who flew over the station at around 6.30pm yesterday, determined to get a bird's eye view of the local landmarks.
Many on terra firma paused in the Casino Rooms car park in Blue Boar Lane to take pictures, as the high flier got a panoramic view of the town and the river towards Chatham .
He flew over the cathedral and castle where the grounds have been turned into a memorial garden for floral tributes to the Queen.
One commented: "Well I didn't expect to see that here. It's something you normally see on a beach when on holiday.
"He's a braver man than me."
