A pensioner who died in hospital after crashing his car in Gillingham a week ago died of natural causes.
The man, who has not been named, but is from West Sussex, died at Medway Maritime Hospital, after losing control of his Ford Focus, in Hoath Way, last Friday, June 19.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit were sent to the scene to investigate the incident after the pensioner crashed shortly before 8pm.
Crash scene investigators say they are no longer looking for witnesses and are no longer investigating the accident.
The man died at Medway Maritime Hospital the next evening.
PC Simon Masterson said: “At around 7.52pm a blue Ford Focus was heading from Bowaters roundabout, Rainham towards Hempstead on Hoath Way.
“Then, the 67 year-old man lost control of his vehicle.
“It left the carriageway to his nearside, mounting a grass bank before then overturning into the driver side. No other vehicles were involved.”
“A spokesman for the coroner’s office, added: “This matter was referred to the coroner.
“His death was deemed to be of natural causes so no further investigation is to take place.”
