GILLINGHAM unveil new signing Tommy Johnson for his long-awaited debut in tonight's friendly at Luton (7.45pm).
Player-manager Andy Hessenthaler will immediately place the former Aston Villa, Derby and Celtic striker in tandem with Rod Wallace up front as he looks for the pair to develop an early rapport.
Johnson, who signed a three-year deal on his arrival from Kilmarnock last month, has missed all of the club’s previous pre-season games after sustaining a thigh injury during training in France.
Hessenthaler, who is taking all his fit players to Kenilworth Road, said: “Tommy needs to be playing and it's important that he and Rod play together up front.” Defender Mark Patterson, who had been troubled by a hamstring injury, is fit to play though midfielder Simon Osborn is doubtful with an ankle injury.
