Drivers stuck in traffic following a crash on the M2 got out of their cars to beat the heat.

No-one is believed to have been hurt in the accident involving a lorry and a car on the coast bound carriageway between junctions 4 and 5, which happened at about 12.30pm.

But the wreckage blocked the road, leading to long delays.

The crash has added to problems on the motorway today as many travel to the coast to enjoy the sun.

Traffic started to ease at about 2.30pm.
