Drivers have faced delays on the M2 after two incidents near Chatham and Gillingham this afternoon.

Two lanes were closed on the London-bound carriageway between Junction 3 at Blue Bell Hill and Junction 2 at Strood, to allow for emergency repairs following an earlier multi-vehicle accident and oil spillage.

There is also slow traffic reported on the coast-bound carriageway between Junction 4 at Gillingham and Junction 5 at Sittingbourne, following an accident involving two cars.

Congestion on the coast-bound side is reported to be back to Blue Bell Hill.
