Visitors to the three-day event, were able to taste delicious foods ranging from special hot sauces, to plump ripe strawberries and could even sip special liqueurs.
Not only could they browse the many stalls, visitors could also sit down and watch some fun races.
The festival, which made its debut last year, proved very popular with foodies and organisers were hopeful this time even more families would turn up.
Those who went along were able to stroll along the waterside on St Mary’s Island to taste the offerings from local food and drink producers.
Other delights on offer included juicy gourmet burgers, fine cheeses, artisan bread, fresh crepes, flavoured coffee, craft ciders, fruity smoothies and fudge.
There was also live music performances by folk, blues and jazz musicians throughtout the day and bands performed in the riverside bandstand.
As well as the edible delights, families could get stuck into an hands-on mobile school of science display from the University of Greenwich.
Tomorrow, visitors will also be able to enjoy canoeing and kayaking on the waterside with Arethusa Venture Centre staff, and guided walks around St Mary’s Island.
Victoria Hazell who organises the event, said: “Foodies and festival-goers who enjoyed the first Chatham Maritime Food and Drink Festival urged us to stage another this year.
“This time, the riverside at Chatham Maritime saw even more delicious food and drink stalls, more talented bands and more all-round family fun.
The festival runs from 10am to 6pm each day. Dragon boat racing is at 11am today (Sunday). The event is signposted and parking is available.
